Phew!  Now that our mini-vacation is over, we need to get back to business!  Here is today's posting for Spanish 2.

Students in Period 4 Spanish 2 were supposed to take a quiz this past Monday.  That quiz has been rescheduled for Friday (viernes, el 2 de noviembre).  It covers:

• Expressions with gustar
• Vocabulary from the worksheet you completed for class (most of the words can be found on Page 315 of the text).

Students in Period 6 and 7 have two assignments from the textbook, Exercise 2 on page 312 and Exercise 4 on page 313.

Students in Periods 6 and 7 will have a quiz this Friday (viernes, el 2 de noviembre) covering verbs that stem change from e->i (pedir, servir, repetir) and the verb traer.  Be able to answer questions.  Students in Period 4 are a little behind and will take this quiz next Monday (lunes, el 5 de noviembre).

Students in Periods 6 and 7 have no written homework but have a quiz in class tomorrow.  The quiz will cover:

• Vocabulary from page 315 in the text
• Expressions with gustar

Students in Period 4 do not have a quiz tomorrow but do have an assignment to complete for tomorrow's class, page 300 Exercise 7 in the text.

Miércoles, el 24 de octubre

Mrs Archambault is finally back at work after a two-day absence. 

This week we are working with new vocabulary words from Unidad 4, Etapa 3.

Students in Period 4 do not have an assignment due tomorrow.

Students in Periods 6 and 7 need to do Exercise 7 on page 300 of the Spanish textbook.

Martes, el 23 de octubre

I was not in school today.  The nasty bug my son had he gave to me, so I stayed home to nurse myself back to health.

Students in Period 7 and Period 4 Spanish 2 classeswere left an assignment to complete in class today.  They need to finish it for homework if they were unable to in class.

Students in period 6 Spanish 2 did not meet today, which means that they have until tomorrow (miércoles, el 24 de octubre) to complete the assignment they were left in class yesterday (lunes, el 22 de octubre).

Students in period 7 have no homework, as class does not meet on Monday.

I was not in school today because I stayed home to care for my son, who is sick.  I did, however, leave assignments for students in Period 4 and 6 Spanish 2 classes.  Please finish anything that you did not complete in class for our next class.

Students in all Mrs. Archambault's Spanish 2 classes took a quiz today.  And, considering that this is Homecoming Weekend, students have NO homework for next week!

Los estudiantes necesitan hacer la Actividad 13 p. 282 y la Actividad 3 p. 289 en el libro.  (Usa la lista de vocabulario a la página 291 para traducir (translate) expresiones nuevas que encuentras en las actividades en tu cuaderno).

A great way to prepare for this quiz is to do the verb drills located on the following website:

Click on number 7 and 8, review the conjugations given and try some verb quizzes on those topics.  Then click the button that says "Generate Unique Quiz" and be sure to include "vosotros" forms.  Don't freak out if the website includes verbs you haven't learned before.  Just follow the rules and you should still get the right answer.  Be warned that the program will automatically mark an answer wrong if you forget an accent.  Click on the letter with an accent to include it in your answer.

Students in Period 6 have a homework packet to turn in tomorrow (miércoles, el 10 de octubre).

Students in Period 4 turned in a homework packet today.  They have two worksheets due for Thursday (jueves, el 11 de octubre).  One is a double-sided verb worksheet.  They only need to do page 9 of the worksheet and NOT page 10.  The second worksheet is double-sided and is based on a reading which can be found on pages 264-265 of the text.  Students should read the selection on those pages first and then complete the accompanying worksheet.

Students in ALL classes have a verb quiz on Friday on verbs that stem-change from e->ie and o->ue.  They can be found on pages 205 and 278 in the text.

Jueves, el 4 de octubre

All students took a quiz today on the verbs decir and salir and direction words.  Grades should be up on Powerschool by Sunday, October 7.  Students also have a packet to complete for Tuesday of next week (Periods 4 and 7) or Wednesday of next week (Period 6).

Martes, el 2 de octubre

Buenos tardes.

Hay una prueba jueves, el 4 de octubre en classe.  Los estudiantes tienen que estudiar:

• los verbos decir y salir
• el vocabulario de esta semana (cerca de, lejos de, al lado de, cruzar, etc.)

Es importante saber contestar preguntas (answer questions).  Cuando la pregunta tiene "tú," la respuesta (the answer) tiene "yo."  Cuando la pregunta tiene "ustedes" o "vosotros," la respuesta tiene "nosotros."

Los estudiantes del Período 4 no tienen tarea.

Los estudiantes en los Períodos 6 y 7 tienen tarea para mañana.  Necesitan hacer dos actividades en el libro, la Actividad 11 a la página 259 y la Actividad 1 a la página 266.
