 Tarea para todos los estudiantes es una hoja copiada que los estudiantes recibieron en clase.  Los estudiantes tienen que hacer la Actividad 13 y la Actividad 19.

Jueves, el 24 de enero

All students took a Unit Test today on Unit 5. Any student who was absent today should make arrangements to stay after for Department Night on Monday of next week (lunes, el 28 de enero) or in the library for homework club on Tuesday (martes, el 29 de enero) or Thursday (jueves, el 31 de enero) for a makeup.

I will not be in class tomorrow (viernes, el 25 de enero) because I will be on the New York field trip with Mrs. Ragno and her students.  I have left two assignments.  One is called "La Tomatina." Students have a handout with a short selection that they need to read and two activities that they need to complete on the opposite side.  When completed, students need to copy new vocabulary from page 417 "Talking about Professions" into their notebooks in both Spanish and English and complete a worksheet with some vocabulary exercises afterwards.

Martes, el 22 de enero

There will be no homework in Spanish 2 this week due to the Unit Test on Thursday. I hope all students will use this as an opportunity to review for the test.

Thursday's Unit Test will cover Unit 5.

Students are welcome to come and see me today in the library and any morning from 7:30 until the first class begins with any questions or to ask for extra help.

Viernes, el 18 de enero

There is no homework this weekend.  However, there will be a test on Unit 5 next Thursday (Jueves, el 24 de enero).  All students should have a study guide.  If not, I do have extra copies.

There will be no Department Night next week due to the long weekend.  However, I will be available in the morning on Tuesday and Wednesday in B-20 and in the library on Tuesday after school for short help sessions and to answer any last-minute questions.

All students took a quiz today in Soanish 2 on food vocabulary that we have been learning this week.

Students are completing a numbers handout for the next class, which is Monday (lunes, el 14 de enero) for Periods 4 and 6 and Tuesday (martes, el 15 de enero) for Period 7.

Reminder that Monday night during Department Night is the last opportunity to stay for the listening comprehension extra credit.

A word about your restaurant dialogues

Finally, FINALLY I have graded your restaurant dialogues.  I apologize that it took me so long.

This weekend I will post grades for that writing assignment on Powerschool.  I will be keeping the writing assignments because I want to compare them with a future, similar writing assignment to see how students have improved over time.  Students have an opportunity to revise to score a higher grade (except for those with 100s, of course).  In order to revise, students will need to come and see me for a quick writing conference where I will explain what can be done to improve the writing grade.  I am available Monday after school during Department Night and most mornings.  After that conference, students will need to come see me again to revise the first writing assignment after school on Monday in Department Night or after school Tuesday or Thursday during Homework Club.  Just like the first draft, the second draft must be completed with no book, dictionary or notes.

Los estudiantes de los Períodos 6 y 7 tienen tarea esta noche para la próxima clase.  La tarea es:

• Haz el papel con los Actividades 8 ("Unos platos tradicionales") y 9 ("La Casa está sucia")
• Haz la Actividad 2 de la página 386 (Puedes escribirla en el papel con las Actividades 8 y 9).

Los estudiantes del Período 4 no tiene tarea escrita, pero tienen que estudiar porque hay una prueba en la próxima clase.  La prueba se trata del pretérito (Ve las páginas 376-378).

No olvides (Don't forget) que hay una prueba viernes también que se trata de vocabulario (Ve la página 389).

Estoy feliz porque hoy es viernes.  Estoy cansada y quiero descansar durante el fin de semana.

A note about extra credit:

Extra credit #3 will be held after school this Monday (lunes, el 7 de enero) and next Monday (lunes, el 14 de enero).  Students will be doing listening activities.  Students will receive 2 extra credit points for attendance and then a possible 3 more points for performance on the listening activities.
